NİYAZİ ÖZPEHRİZ

Born in İstanbul in 1978. Concluded primary and secondary education in İstanbul, too. After that he went to Konya Meram High Science School and İstanbul Necip Fazıl Kısakürek High School. In 1996 he became the first of Turkey in University Entrance Exam (ÖYS). In 2001 he graduated from Bilkent Universty International Relations Department by high honor degree.

That same year, he started his professional carrier in the Ministry of Finance as a Tax Inspector. In this period, he concluded a number of tax audits in large companies.

In 2006 he was appointed as a tax adviser to the Minister of Finance. He took the role in the development of the law numbered 5746 about supporting research and development activities.

Between the years 2007-2009 he worked in OECD Centre for Tax Policy and Administration in Paris/France. In Vienna and Cairo, he gave tax seminars to tax inspectors from non-OECD member countries. In 2010, he graduated from USA Carnegie Mellon University Public Management Department.

In 2011, he was appointed as the head of department to the General Directorate of Revenue Policies in Ministry of Finance. In 2013, he participated to the work of re-writing the draft of Income Tax Law which was sent to Turkish Parliament (TBMM) in the same year.

During the years 2012-2013, he worked as the Reporter of the Special Commission of Taxation on the Tenth Development Plan.

In Middle East and North Africa Countries Tax Forum (MENA Tax Forum) and Black Sea Economic Cooperation Tax Forum (BSEC Tax Forum) he gave presentations about tax policies and economic development. He prepared a science report about taxpayer rights in the USA and European Countries. He has a number of articles about tax policies and applications published in different magazines.

He speaks English and French.

He is married and he has one boy.
